Gymnázium Benešov is a school with a 300-year tradition, providing secondary education with a final graduation exam in two study programs. The school's maximum number of students is 600. The education is general, but in the last two years of both study programs, students choose elective subjects (list –at the bottom) to prepare for their final exams or university studies. Students are required to study two foreign languages: English as the first language and one of four European languages–German, French, Spanish, or Russian–as the second language.GBN is a Cambridge English Exam Preparation Centre and a partner school of IH Akcent. Gymnázium Benešov is also an organizer of subject-based competitions. Our school provides a variety of extracurricular activities,such as the Young Audience Club, the Young Listener Club, a robotics club, and others. Our school does not have its own canteen, but students can sign up for meals in nearby elementary school canteens, which are within walking distance.
