Former students feelings

Gymnázium Benešov is a place where the past, present, and occasionally even the future converge. When I speak of the past, I mean that the spirit of Mendeleev still haunts the chemistry lab, as if he were still arranging elements into the periodic table. On the other hand, under the light reflecting off polished wood, a grand piano rests majestically in the school auditorium – sometimes brought to life by the gentle touch of pianists, other times trembling under the impact of a mathematics book as a student seeks an alternative way to express their emotions. GBN is a place of learning, laughter, survival – and sometimes, it’s where true miracles happen!
Marek
Even though GBN is an educational institution, the atmosphere has always felt to me kind of relaxed, maybe even friendly. The vast number of events from concerts and charity collections to sports and other trips adds a truly positive note to studying. I would particularly highlight the studying of history and social sciences, thanks to which I passed my first exam period practically without any problems (or studying). Simply put, GBN is a great school.
Matěj
As a key strength of GBN, I would definitely highlight the historical studies, as all the teachers are true experts who are always happy to explain everything. Similarly, social sciences are taught at an above-standard level and will prepare you well for university. The school also organizes many trips abroad, with those to German-speaking countries being particularly interesting. Modernization at GBN is rather weird. On one hand, the basement looks worse than a dungeon in Špilberk, the desks seem to have been carved by Saint Joseph back when he was still in the business. On the other hand, every classroom has a projector, and the school owns around six 3D printers. Overall, it is a professionally managed institution that produces the regional elite and the experiences here are unforgettable.
