Characteristics of Two-Year Elective Subjects

Literary Seminar (Two-Year)

A seminar for 3rd and 4th-year students that enhances reading skills and deepens literary knowledge, aiding in both the school-leaving exam and university entrance exams. It covers literary theory, history, and criticism, linking literature with history, art, and philosophy while improving students' stylistic skills.

Grammar and Conversation Seminar (GrKa B1)

Designed for students at A2/B1 level, focusing on English grammar from basics to B2 level and its practical use. It includes conversations about British culture, idioms, and preparation for the English school-leaving exam.

Conversation Seminar (KA B1)

A B1-level seminar expanding vocabulary and phrases on topics such as family, hobbies, sports, travel, traditions, the environment, and employment. It uses materials like English Vocabulary in Use (Intermediate) and British Culture (Intermediate).

Conversation Seminar (KA B2)

Intended for B2-level students, covering conversation topics such as non-traditional families, extreme sports, health, travel, crime, and employment. Materials include Taboos and Issues, English Vocabulary in Use (Upper-intermediate), and Global Issues.

Cambridge Exam Preparation Seminar (CA2)

For students with at least B1 (FCE) or B2 (CAE) level, offering exam practice, including mock tests. It uses materials like FCE/CAE Trainer, FCE Games and Activities, and Advanced Skills.

Conversation in German

A B1-level seminar for students in their 3rd or 7th year, preparing them for the German school-leaving exam and university entrance exams. It focuses on speaking skills, practical communication, and real-life situations, covering topics like family, education, traditions, health, work, and the environment.

Conversation in Russian

A seminar for students planning to take the Russian school-leaving exam or study the language at university. It includes practicing exam topics, listening, reading, vocabulary building, and learning about Russian geography, literature, culture, and science.

Conversation in French

This seminar enhances oral skills and expands knowledge of France and francophone countries, comparing them with the Czech Republic. Topics include geography, history, literature, culture, and daily life. It is ideal for students preparing for the school-leaving exam or university studies in French.

Conversation in Spanish

For students preparing for the Spanish final exam (state and school) or DELE/SIELE, with an A2/B1 level required. It focuses on speaking, listening, reading, grammar review, and cultural topics, using authentic materials and online resources.

Social Science Seminar (Two-Year)

Prepares students for the school-leaving exam and university entrance exams in social sciences. It covers political, economic, ethical, and international issues, fostering discussion and critical thinking about current events.

History Seminar (Two-Year)

For 3rd-year students interested in history and humanities (law, teaching, etc.). It teaches academic writing, source analysis, and historical research while covering human history up to the 18th century, emphasizing connections to modern society and current events.

Modern Literature (One-Year Seminar)

This seminar is designed for 4th-year students, focused on enhancing reading and literary skills. Students are introduced to various literary movements and authors of the 20th and 21st centuries, improving their literary analysis and preparing for the school-leaving exams. The seminar fosters critical thinking and text interpretation across different genres.

Linguistics Seminar JS

A seminar focused on deepening students' linguistic knowledge before the school-leaving exams. It expands language skills and prepares students for the challenging tasks of the Czech language exam.

Conversational Seminar – One-Year (KA B1)

A seminar for students with B1+ proficiency, focusing on expanding vocabulary and phrases in everyday conversational topics such as family, sports, and travel. The goal is to improve fluency and confidence in communication in a foreign language.

Conversational Seminar – One-Year (KA B2)

A seminar for students with B2 proficiency, focusing on expanding vocabulary in more complex topics such as crime, environmental issues, and contemporary social concerns. It helps students develop their ability to discuss and argue in English.

Literary Seminar – B2 (LiAj B2)

A seminar for students interested in British literature. Students read and discuss texts from Anglo-Saxon literature through modernism to contemporary British literature. The aim is to expand cultural awareness and critical reading skills.

Preparation for Cambridge Exams – One-Year (CA)

German Conversation
